Congressman Thompson aggressively seeks to increase home ownership in his mostly rural District and State. Low income housing has been sought to aid those families who cannot afford to or lack the credit to assume a traditional mortgage. He has supported efforts to raise the ceiling on low income housing credit and assist states in administering their affordable housing efforts. Working closely with local housing agencies and non-profit organizations, particularly the EZ/EC designations, Thompson has made headway in these efforts.
