CONGRESSMAN THOMPSON ANNOUNCES A $553,000.00 DOJ VICTIMS OF CRIME GRANT AWARD TO THE MISISSIPPI OFFICE OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL

BOLTON, MISSISSIPPI – Today, United States Representative Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS) announced that the U.S. Department of Justice has awarded a $553,000.00 Victims of Crime FY,’08 VOCA Victim Compensation Formula grant award to the Mississippi Office of the Attorney General.

The grant award provides funds from the FY 07 Crime Victims Fund to enhance State victim compensation payments to eligible crime victims. Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) compensation funds provide financial assistance to Federal and State victims of crime.
