BOLTON, MISSISSIPPI – Today, United States Representative Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS) announced the award of a $350,000.00 grant by the U. S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention to the Mississippi Division of Public Safety Planning. The title of the program and the project is OJJDP FY ‘08 Enforcing Underage Drinking Laws (EUDL) Block Grant Program.

The goal of the EUDL Program is to support and enhance State efforts, in cooperation with local jurisdictions, to enforce laws prohibiting the sale of alcoholic beverages, or the consumption of alcoholic beverages by minors. For the purpose of the program, minors are defined as individuals under 21 years of age.
