BOLTON, MISSISSIPPI – Today, United States Representative Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS) announced that the Community Student Learning Center in Lexington, Mississippi has been selected to receive funding under the Carol M. White Physical Education Program (215F). This grant will be for $454,182.00 for the period of 07/01/2008 through 06/30/2009. It is anticipated that the grant will be for a total of 3 year(s).
The Carol M. White Physical Education Program is authorized under Sections 5501-5506 of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965, as amended by the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001. Under this program, local educational agencies (LEAs) and community-based organizations (CBOs) receive funds to initiate, expand, or improve physical education programs for students in grades kindergarten through the 12th grade.
