HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT FUNDS FOR THE SECOND CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT

 

BOLTON, MISSISSIPPIToday, United States Representative Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS) announced that the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is awarding Housing Counseling funds for the Second Congressional District.  The funds will be used to provide assistance in the form of financial literacy, expand homeownership opportunities, improve access to affordable housing and preserve homeownership among low-to-moderate income renters and the homeless.  Program participants may also provide Reverse Mortgage Counseling to elderly homeowners who see to convert equity in their homes into incomes that can be used to pay for home improvements, medical costs, living expenses, and other expenses.
