    • Funding will be used for the reconstruction of Fortification Street, a key northern gateway to the mid-city, is an essential element of the broader Belhaven/Belhaven Heights development plan. Affected will be 1.2 miles of an existing four and five lane curb and gutter section from Mill Street to Greymount Street.

  • JATRAN Fleet Replacement includes bus replacement and bus safety enhancement. This project is part of Jackson's ongoing program for replacement of its aging fleet of JATRAN fixed route buses. Funding in the amount of $1.8 million will allow JATRAN to continue to upgrade its rolling stock and purchase new or modified buses and vehicles to replace its oldest ones that have exceeded their "useful lives" as defined by FTA. Part of the same funding would also be used for bus security enhancement.
