Congressman Bennie G. Thompson Announces the Mississippi-Led Consortium Southeast Biotech Collaborative (SEBC) as a Tech Hub Strategy Grant Recipient

[Washington, D.C.] – Representative Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS02) announces that the Southeast Biotech Collaborative (SEBC) has been announced as one of the recipients of the Tech Hub Strategy Grant.

As the only Mississippi politician in Washington, D.C. to support the CHIPS and Science Act, I am happy to see Mississippi Schools named as one ofthe 2023 Tech Hub Strategy Development Grant recipients to start revolutionizing the Biotech Industry,” said Rep. Thompson.

The Southeastern Biotech Collaborative (SEBC) will work to develop a regional strategy to modernize biomanufacturing, biologistics, and precision population health to reduce distribution from foreign suppliers and reduce the shortage of medicine.

The Tech Hubs Strategy Grant Recipients are comprised of three Southeastern states in which Mississippi is included. Higher Education School participants include University of Mississippi, Mississippi State University, Jackson State University, University of Southern Mississippi, University of Mississippi Medical Center, Mississippi Valley State University, Rust College.
