CONGRESSMAN BENNIE G. THOMPSON ANNOUNCES OVER $1.6 MILLION AWARDED TO Copiah-Lincoln Community College
BOLTON, MISSISSIPPI – Today, United States Representative Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS) announced The U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has awarded $1,671,740 in grant funds to the following:

Copiah-Lincoln Community College | $1,583,753.94 | This grant will fund phase I of a multi-use community saferoom on the campus of Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Wesson, MS. This funding request is for feasibility, design, engineering, environmental and historic preservation (EHP). The saferoom will be a total of 36,480 square feet, a total estimated cost of $25,149,366.60 and a total per square foot cost of $689.40. The saferoom will also be used as an athletic facility with a basketball court, offices and locker rooms. This disaster falls under the Consolidated Appropriation Act of 2022 requiring no less than a federal cost share of 90%. | |

| This grant will fund the subrecipient management costs for phase I administrative duties. This award is pursuant to Section 1215 of the Disaster Recovery Reform Act of 2018, which amended Section 324 of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Assistance Act, allowing Subrecipient Management Costs (SRMC) up to 5% of the total project cost, available to the subrecipient at a federal cost share of 100%. |
