CONGRESSMAN BENNIE G. THOMPSON ANNOUNCES OVER $20 MILLION AWARDED TO THE LEFLORE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
BOLTON, MISSISSIPPI – Today, United States Representative Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS) announced The USDA Natural Resources Conservation has awarded $20,557,734 through the Watershed and Flood Prevention Operations (WFPO) Program to Leflore County Supervisor Districts 2, 4 & 5. These federal funds will be used to protect against increased flooding.

District 2 Reginald Moore/ Browning Pump Station Flood Disaster Project | $6,707,945.90 | The scope of work will include channel improvements, drainage infrastructure, erosion control and the installation of a pump station. |
District 4 Eric Mitchel / Itta Bena Drainage Project | $6,513,150.00 | The scope of work will include a new pump station, drainage infrastructure, channel improvements and elevation repairs made to the proposed levee. |
District 5 Robert Collins/ Glendale Emergency Drainage Improvement Project | $7,336,639.00 | The scope of work will include removal of existing pumps and culverts, excavation, erosion control, water pumping station and generator to run pump station during power outages. |
