Bolton, MS – Congressman Bennie Thompson is pleased to announce that Google.org has awarded a $1 million grant to support Tougaloo College's new Cybersecurity Clinic. This generous contribution is part of the Google Cybersecurity Clinics Fund, aimed at enhancing cybersecurity education and support for vulnerable organizations.

The Tougaloo College Cybersecurity Clinic, housed within the Mathematics and Computer Science department, is dedicated to training students to conduct cybersecurity risk reviews and audits. The clinic also hosts cyber awareness training sessions for students, faculty, and clients. Additionally, it offers pro bono cybersecurity services to community organizations, churches, healthcare entities, and small businesses, all of which are often targets of cyber-attacks due to limited resources and expertise.

“I am thrilled to see Tougaloo College receive this significant grant from Google.org,” said Congressman Thompson. “Investing in cybersecurity education and support is crucial in today’s digital age. The Tougaloo College Cybersecurity Clinic will play a vital role in protecting our local organizations and preparing our students for future careers in this essential field.”

This grant will enable Tougaloo College to expand its cybersecurity training programs and services, furthering its mission to empower students and safeguard the community against cyber threats.
