Congressman Bennie Thompson Announces U. S. Army Corps of Engineers funding for Pearl River Flood Control Project

(BOLTON, MS) Today, United States Representative Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS) announced the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Civil Works has received $700,000 from the Biden Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to complete the validation study for the Pearl River Flood Control Project located in Jackson, Mississippi. An additional $221 million in construction funding will be made available contingent on the Secretary’s evaluation that the project meets environmental and other criteria.
