Congressman Bennie Thompson Announces U. S. Department of Agriculture Awards $272,000 to Mississippi Water Association

Today, United States Representative Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS) announced the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Water and Waste Disposal Loans and Grants Program has approved a loan of $150,000 and a grant of $122,000 to South Lake Water Association, Inc. located in Sledge, Mississippi.

This Rural Development investment will be used to replace an existing two inch water line along Samuels road in Panola county with a new four inch polyvinyl chloride water line and replace an existing four inch water line at the South end of Joe Kyle road in Quitman county with a new four inch polyvinyl chloride water line. The entire system will be upgraded to automatic read meters.
