Congressman Bennie Thompson Announces U. S. Department of Justice Awarded $611,087 to Mississippi Department of Public Safety

(BOLTON, MS) Today, United States Representative Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS) announced the U.S. Department of Justice Office of Juvenile Justice Delinquency Prevention has awarded $611,087 in FY 2021 Title II Formula Grant Funds to the Mississippi Department of Public Safety.

The Division of Public Safety Planning (DPSP), Office of Justice Programs (OJP) is primarily responsible for providing resources and funding assistance to support state and local efforts to plan, establish, operate, coordinate, and evaluate projects directly or through grants and contracts with public and private agencies for the development of more effective education, training, research, prevention, diversion, treatment, and rehabilitation programs in the area of juvenile delinquency and programs to improve the juvenile justice system.
