Congressman Thompson Announces $12,235,000 in CDFI Program and NACA Program Awards for Mississippi's Second Congressional District

BOLTON, MS – Congressman Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS) is pleased to announce that the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Community Development Financial Institutions Fund (CDFI Fund) has awarded $408.2 million in Financial Assistance (FA) to 357 Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) nationwide through the fiscal year 2024 (FY 2024) funding round. These funds will support financial services and products aimed at improving access to financial resources for low-income and underserved communities across the country.

In Mississippi’s Second Congressional District, several local institutions have been selected to receive awards under the CDFI Program. This program provides 44critical funding that helps expand economic opportunity for residents and small businesses in underserved areas.

The FY 2024 funding round was made possible through the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023 (Public Law 117-328) and the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2024 (Public Law 118-47).
