Congressman Thompson Statement on the Death of Nolan Wells

Washington, D.C. – Today, United States Representative Congressman Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS) released the following statement:

“I join civil rights attorney Ben Crump and the Rev. Al Sharpton in their efforts to get all the information surrounding the circumstances of Nolan Wells' death.

“Rumors continue to abound, and comments from local authorities have caused concern for many of us.

“I encourage local authorities to cooperate fully with the family of Nolan Wells so that no stone is left unturned in determining the facts and circumstances surrounding his death. Social media is full of videos that require local authorities to thoroughly investigate this situation. That is why a full and transparent investigation is so important.

“The family of Nolan Wells deserves nothing less than the truth.”
