Former January 6 Committee Chairman Thompson Statement on the FBI Sending Detailed Info on 5,000 Employees Who Worked January 6 Cases to the Justice Department

Washington, D.C. –  Today, Rep. Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS), former Chairman of the Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol, released the following statement on news the FBI has sent detailed information on 5,000 employees who worked on January 6 cases to the Justice Department:

“Trump’s retaliation against FBI employees who investigated the January 6th attack is political interference with the administration of justice. That is the stuff of dictatorships—not the United States. I support FBI employees’ lawsuits to stop the weaponization of the Bureau and Trump’s shameful attempt to rewrite history.”
