Media Advisory: Congressman Thompson Announces School Bus Donation to Jackson Public School District
BOLTON, MISSISSIPPI – Today, Congressman Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS) disclosed that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will allocate $1 billion for the nationwide Clean School Bus Program. This announcement coincides with the celebration of the delivery of 5 new school buses to the school district, which took place in January. With an additional 25 buses expected to be received by Jackson Public Schools (JPS), it is anticipated that they will be operational by the commencement of the 2024-2025 school year.
