Congressman Thompson Supports the Senate’s Coronavirus Response Bill

March 26, 2020

WASHINGTON—Today, U.S. Rep. Bennie Thompson today announced his support for the Senate's Coronavirus Response Bill.

"America has a moral obligation to care and protect our citizens," Thompson said. "I am committed to the health and well-being of my constituents. Therefore, I will support this legislation when it comes to the House. This legislation will make a large investment in hospitals, health systems, and state and local governments; implement unemployment insurance benefits; give relief for small businesses; and provide emergency education funding and eliminated income tax on student loan repayment assistance by an employer. I will continue working tirelessly to make sure families and workers are protected."
