College and Career Fair

Congressman Bennie Thompson’s Annual College and Career Fair is a signature event held each October to connect students and community members across Mississippi’s Second Congressional District with meaningful educational and employment opportunities. Open to the general public, this event brings together a diverse group of federal, state, and local employers, as well as colleges and universities from both in-state and across the country.

All schools within the district are invited to participate, providing students with the opportunity to explore a wide range of colleges, majors, and career pathways. Representatives are available to share information, answer questions, and help students make informed decisions about their futures.

In addition to student engagement, members of the general public are encouraged to attend and take advantage of on-site employment opportunities. Attendees may bring resumes and apply directly for positions with participating federal, state, and local agencies and organizations.

This annual event reflects a strong commitment to expanding access, fostering workforce development, and creating pathways to higher education and sustainable careers for all residents of the district.
