Congressman Thompson's Statement on Trump's Supreme Court Nominee

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Representative Bennie G. Thompson (MS-02) released the following statement on President Trump's Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh:

"The Supreme Court nomination of Brett Kavanaugh brings potential harm towards women, minorities and countless others across the country," Thompson said. "For many of us, schools would remain segregated if it weren't for the Brown v. Board of Education ruling. For women, Trump campaigned on appointing Supreme Court justices that will overturn Roe v. Wade.

"I join with the NAACP and other groups opposing Kavanaugh's nomination."
