2. Impact on MS-02: Disruptions to Mississippi’s Education and Workforce System
- K-12 schools that receive Title I funding will lose critical financial support and could be forced to close or consolidate.
- K-12 schools will have a heavy financial burden forcing them to fund teachers’ training, classroom supplies, technology, salaries, summer meal programs, and after school programs on their own.
- Students with special needs will lose access to education services, while creating challenges for schools to help disadvantaged students achieve proficient levels in education.
- Students with special needs will lose access to essential education services, while making it harder for schools to also support disadvantaged students in reaching grade-level proficiency.
- Public colleges and universities will not receive enough funding to support students who qualify for federal financial aid.
- Students interested in studying food and agricultural sciences at Alcorn State University will not have federal funds to support their financial need.
