BOLTON, MISSISSIPPI – Today, United States Representative Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS) announced the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Aviation Administration has awarded $3,992,148 to the City of Greenville for the Greenville Mid-Delta Airport.

The funds will be used to rehabilitate Taxiway A and B to maintain the structural integrity of the pavement and to minimize foreign object debris.

Bolton, MS – Today, United States Representative Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS) announced winners of the 2021 Second Congressional "Artistic Discovery" Virtual Art Competition. There were 6 schools that participated and 74 pieces of artwork. This year's 1st Place winner is Ari Perkins of Ida B. Wells APAC located in Jackson, Mississippi. I would like to extend my congratulations to Ari and the Ida B. Wells APAC's Art Program for placing #1 in this year's competition.

Today, United States Representative Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS) announced the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Federal Emergency Management Agency will begin providing financial assistance for funeral expenses incurred after Jan. 20, 2020 for deaths related to coronavirus (COVID-19) to help ease some of the financial stress and burden caused by the pandemic.

BOLTON, M.S. – Rep. Bennie Thompson sent a letter to the U.S. Department of Justice Office of the Inspector General, Michael E. Horowitz asking for an investigation into the mounting allegations presented to his office by the union and employees at the Yazoo City Federal Correctional Complex. These very serious allegations range from sexual misconduct, safety violations, inmate health issues and illegal staff searches. If not addressed it can be detrimental to the prison system, employees, inmates, and surrounding community.
