CORONAVIRUS/COVID-19 Response to Recovery
The Mississippi Department of Human Services (MDHS) and the Mississippi Department of Health (MDH) have joined forces to provide temporary childcare services assistance to emergency and essential workers at no cost. Emergency and essential workers include but not limited to first responders, emergency personnel, emergency support personnel, essential government personnel, and health care professionals. Many of these workers under normal circumstances would not be eligible for assistance. The program is called Childcare Crisis Assistance in Isolation Response Plan (CCAIR). This service is intended to last throughout the COVID-19 crisis.
To read more go to Childcare Crisis Assistance in Isolation Response Plan (CCAIR).
To apply go to Parent Application for Mississippi Child Care Payment Program.
- Choose "Emergency (CCAIR) Parent Application
- The following message and question will appear: "This application is only for essential personnel working as first responders and in healthcare operation during the COVID-19 pandemic. Are you a first responder or healthcare worker?"
- Afterwards you will need to choose: "Create new application or continue to existing application" and proceed as prompted.
