Thompson (D-MS) is pleased to announce that the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Community Development Financial Institutions Fund (CDFI Fund) has awarded $408.2 million in Financial Assistance (FA) to 357 Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) nationwide through the fiscal year 2024 (FY 2024) funding round.

Thompson is pleased to announce that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service has awarded nearly $5 million in grants to ten state agencies, including $238,843 to the Mississippi Department of Human Services, to enhance fraud prevention efforts within the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

Thompson is pleased to announce that Coahoma Community College has been awarded a $400,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) Office on Violence Against Women (OVW). This grant, part of the OVW Fiscal Year 2024 Grants to Reduce Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, Sexual Assault, and Stalking on Campus Program, will support the college’s ongoing efforts to address and prevent these crimes on campus.
