BOLTON, MS – Congressman Bennie G. Thompson is pleased to announce that Coahoma Community College has been awarded a $400,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) Office on Violence Against Women (OVW). This grant, part of the OVW Fiscal Year 2024 Grants to Reduce Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, Sexual Assault, and Stalking on Campus Program, will support the college’s ongoing efforts to address and prevent these crimes on campus.

Thompson is proud to announce that Batesville, Mississippi, has been selected as one of the twelve projects to receive funding under a new pilot program authorized by Section 165(a) of the Water Resources Development Act of 2020. The project, located in Batesville, will be funded under the Continuing Authorities Program (CAP) Section 14 and will receive 100% federal funding.
